Miyako Izakaya is the oldest Japanese restaurant in Penang and one of the oldest in Malaysia. Miyako Izakaya is not a typical Japanese restaurant, in fact, the restaurant's interior has been designed to mimic traditional Japanese houses. The name Izakaya refers to a place for people to have a little chit chat while having a drink (mostly sake or other type of beers). Patrons are able to enjoy a wide variety of Japanese delicacies as well as Japanese beer after each meal, here at Miyako Izakaya.
It is now owned by my sis and sis-in-law. If you are a Penangite or if you happend to visit Penang, you are welcome to visit Miyako Izakaya which is located at Upper Penang road, beside Body Glove, and above Happy Mart.
